Carrie

This is my lovely friend Caroline, we met in January 1997 and we just clicked. We've been friends every since. She has two boys, I have two girls, I'm slightly older than her so our children are slightly older too. She's been to Edinburgh to see us at least three times, her sons have both stayed with us, one for an extended period while studying in the UK. She has been a huge influence in my life and indeed a true blessing.
We've come together through the whole development of email and social media, from ICQ, Messenger, Viber, Facebook,MySpace,... and more. We're even written letters - once a month, they took two weeks to reach the recipient then two weeks for the reply to get back again . Skype was a godsend.
Tomorrow she is going to Aizawl far to the north east of India, beyond Bangladesh. She started a Christian group here, for young people who come from that part of the world to study in Tirunelveli under government sponsorship. Tomorrow she is travelling to their tribal homelands to see the environment they come from. The journey will take at least two days. She doesn't get back here until the morning of the day I leave, so we are hoping the travel all goes to plan.
Today has been very hot, 37° , it's the type of weather that makes you want to do very little.
I have attached a very itchy extra. I really should have known better when Blethers asked if there were mosquitoes..... I said I had only one bite.
I am holding her entirely responsible for jinxing me - look what happened last night while we were sitting chatting! I quite forgot to put the mozzie cream on my feet. I don't think I've ever had so many bites.
