Happy Birthday Zoe!

Zoe got her own small apple cake for her birthday. She wasn't quite sure what to do with it at first. After a few minutes, she started playing with it and nibbling a bit. Even with cake all over her hands and mouth, this was still the cleanest first year birthday cake eating I've ever seen. Her hair and clothes were mostly cake-free.

Zoe's parents also had her play a traditional Chinese game. Objects representing future occupations were placed in a circle, and Zoe sat in the middle. The first object to be chosen supposedly would be the direction she will head in her life. The circle included sheet music, a first aid kit, an athletic medal, a Bible, a pen, a ribbon to represent long life, her passport, a cooking spoon, and maybe other things that I can't remember. Zoe looked around for a while. She seemed to realize this was a big decision. After a few minutes, she went for the first aid kit...maybe she will be involved with medicine when she is older. And maybe it will just make for a good story.
