Dapper Ducks

It was a very cold morning (2C) with not a glimmer of sun. However we were committed to going on a walk with the local RSPB group around Alresford. It turned out to be successful for the birds found, and  the feeling of wellbeing ( following on from yesterday's conference which covered the huge benefits to individuals from experiencing the great outdoors). Birds seen included two Marsh Harriers  over the pond and reedbeds, three Green Sandpipers, a couple of Pied Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail, and a couple of Meadow Pipits on old watercress beds, Little Egrets skulking in the reeds, and a Lesser Redpoll feeding on seedheads. Near the end of the walk we came to the  popular duck feeding area on the river Arle. The male Mallards were looking especially smart in their gleaming breeding  plumage, so they are my blip.
