After the storm

While I was in Namibia, the storm that hit the UK damaged a lot of trees in this area. One blocked the back road from the village.

This afternoon, I went for a quick walk "around the block" while Roy and Pat were visiting Julie. I was longer than I expected because I kept meeting people and chatting.

This fire was well underway and they were burning wood from one of the fallen trees. There were three children, just one in this image, who were enjoying the event.

Julie walked down my drive to the road and back again. She is doing brilliantly with her walking and can progress from the Zimmer to elbow crutches now. She has decided to go home on Tuesday and another friend, Carol, wil go to stay for the first days.

Oscar is eating the new food, but Daisy is holding out.........

When Roy and Pat were here, Daisy came into the lounge. I asked if they were OK with cats and although they said yes, I detected a slight stiffening in Roy. It turns out that a Siamese kitten attacked him years ago. Daisy, inevitably, wanted to go to him. She had to go out instead. You can't have guests being uncomfortable around felines.

We watched the Antiques Roadshow tonight.
