KCNQ2Haiku

No man left behind..

If he starts a walk
with three humans, he'll ensure
he ends with three too!

Ben was quite agitated in the woods today, he is worried about his session with carers tomorrow, he can't really articulate it, so he fixes on any uncertainties and shouts about it.  Today it was that he's been told he's going on public transport but he doesn't know if it's train, tram or bus.. we don't have any way to find that out before they get here in the morning and honestly, even if we did answer that question, he'd find another uncertainty to pick a hole in, like what's the number of the bus or will the carers be early or late or.. *insert any question here*.  He started shouting and throwing things on our walk this afternoon, so Mr KCNQ2Haiku told me to take Leo on ahead, as sometimes Ben is better when he's one on one, rather than in a group.  This was a solid plan.. until Leo realised two of the party were missing and he ground to a halt and stared hopelessly backwards until they caught us up!  Ben has been settled for the rest of the afternoon, these things come over him like a wave, it can feel like you can't help him in the moment but thankfully, they do pass.
Other than that it's been low key, I've been quite chilled, Mr KCNQ2Haiku took Ben for a walk this morning so I pottered, made cookies, took Leo out etc and then after the woods walk this afternoon Ben watched some TV and I read some of my book, it's only taken me about six months(!) but I'm actually on page 206 of 361!  The tram into Manchester helped yesterday :-) It actually feels like it's been a good weekend for taking some moments of peace.  Hopefully next week will be the same, we have half term which is going to involve chasing around a bit after Older Teen at the beginning and then we'll retreat to the North Pennines for a few days of walking with Leo and Ben from Wednesday.  My challenge is to read 155 pages by this time next week.. what do we all think :-D ??!
