Another loft day. I am making progress, but there is still a lot to do. However, I am now “lofted out”, so will take a break.

This is the family camera that I grew up with, in those days the camera came out for the annual summer holiday. The idea of taking photos at any other time, never mind every day, would never have entered our minds. And of course the little photos were all monochrome, like TV programmes.

Mum and dad let me take it on a school trip to Paris when I was ten, a real adventure. What I haven’t come across is the school project I completed on my return, which is illustrated with all my photographs. It may be lost.

I think I have the camera because I thought dad might throw it away. I was - and am - quite attached to it.
