Black Elder ( Sambucus niger )
A hectic day. First shopping for things needed for maintenance at the Lodge. Then we arrived at the Lodge and the final job, fitting the kickingboards had been done.So we set about restoring the room to normality. THis took a lot longer than expected as pre concienved ideas about what to put where had to be rethought. By the end of the day we were almost finished.
Mid afternoon I nipped out looking for a for blip.. I intended to do the "walk to the bins" but first I had a look round our own garden at the Lodge. THis Black Elder forms quite a feature standing high on the bank. The black leaves and pink flowers add interest throughout the growing season. A single bud was showing signs of opening so I opted for this sign of spring.
