A world away from orange!
A slightly different day today - builders in, but no hospital visit. I actually had an appointment, but I’m afraid I cancelled it - and it’s been rebooked for March. There’s only so much time you can spend in hospital appointments!
Ironically though, we make the trip along the A55 once more as we want to see The Brutalist in IMAX and Chester’s the closest opportunity. I must admit it’s our first visit to one of these gigantic screens and it takes some getting used to - especially with the sound of trailers blaring out at a ridiculous volume. Thankfully, the sound is fine for the actual film.
And what do we think of it? Well, it is long - 215 minutes to be exact - but in fairness, it doesn’t drag. It’s good, but not quite as amazing as reviews have stated - and G is particularly unenthusiastic feeling it’s all a bit ‘plastic’ - his word. I can see the ‘brutalist’ referring not only to the style of architecture but also to American prejudice against the immigrant as well as to individual characters. It’s certainly a film that stays with you.
Today’s blip comes from the reflective images below the IMAX cinema - with minimal tweaking.
Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting!
