Bluebird
Despite what I often post on here I'm not that into nature photography!
I do however, like alternative processes and particularly cyanotypes.
So, here's a snap of a jackdaw, converted into a large negative on acetate, and then printed using the proces first announced in 1842.
Sometimes I hand colour them, but in this one I only added a wee bit of blue to the eye.
This was a young birds as it had bluish eyes. There was a hint of this colour in the print, but I decided to enhance just a little.
For what it's worth the eyes of a jackdaw turn dull brown during their first winter, then gradually go dull white before, at about a year old, turning silvery-white.
(I have a real soft spot for jackdaws having studied them at university a very long time ago.)
