Found!

There aren't many functioning brain cells left between us, staff or students,  at the moment... the half term break is next week, someone in their infinite wisdom deemed an internal observation week for some departments, so our usual tactic of subject related games to get us through the last sessions had to go on hold until after we'd been observed.

Happily, we didn't have to go through the entire week on tenterhooks, and consideration of which games would work for each group was underway yesterday afternoon! Quite what inspired me to check the Uno cards were all there is a bit of a mystery, but check them I did, and to our consternation we were three short. I'd run out of time yesterday, but promised I'd check thoroughly during the course of today when I had some time.

If the missing cards were from a standard pack, we'd've not been too perturbed, there are plenty of packs around the place we could have borrowed. But, these three cards are from our Braille set - Braille is at the top left/bottom right of each card. It's enough to indicate to the Braillists amongst our visually impaired students the colour, number, or special card and, far more importantly, means they can participate in the game independently. Plus, alas, the cost of replacing a Braille set is 4 times the cost of an ordinary pack.

But, happily, there is no need to consider the angst of replacing the game, the box the Braille cards live in has been fixed, and both the main games box and the VI games/resources box have had their occasional sort out and the various games checked for missing components.

Now, if the missing triangle from the wooden Tangram could reveal its hiding place I'd end the half term a very happy soul.
