Sir John Soane's Museum

Lincoln's Inn Fields, London

An Act of Parliament was passed to bequeath John Soane's house and collection to the nation, that was back in 1833. The guides told us it has been kept pretty much as it was when he died in 1837. It is absolutely packed with antiquities and architectural pieces /models. We were scared to turn around in some of the spaces for fear of knocking something.

Before heading to Lincoln's Inn Fields, we had spent a very pleasant morning admiring paintings in the Courtald.
