Milnthorpe

A relaxed sort of day. Joe over for tea and crumpets in the morning then we drove over to Milnthorpe. This is an amazing bit of bush but very different to yesterday's at Wainui full of massive fragrant eucalyptus trees and spindly manukas
You emerge onto a huge and stunning beach, full of driftwood, some made into bivouacs. There was lots of interesting stuff washed up: kelp, pristine white shells and sadly as small dead penguin. No plastic whatsoever.
We lunched in the Old Courthouse in Collingwood then enjoyed a mooching around sort of afternoon . I braved a swim and the tide was way out and I had to walk miles but still lovely.
One extra is for Ceridwen- an empty cicada shell on a big fat juicy plum. A good place to emerge.
