Hinges
Another sunless day.
Caught up with a few domestic tasks and walked the dog.
Last night felt a bit under the weather so turned in early and read a bit. I finished W
Elizabeth Jane Howard's autobiography Slipstream. I must have heard a radio programme that she was twice a guest on Desert Island Discs. Scrolling through BBC Sounds I found a truncated interview with Roy Plomley without any music and a second full programme interview with Sue Lawley.
I was struck how Desert Island Discs interviewers have altered over time. Roy Plomley had a polite, avuncular, formal interviewing style. Listening to Sue Lawley's sometimes abrasive, challenging style perhaps borne out of current affair/political interviewing career is a sharp contrast to Lauren Laverne's easier, relaxed approach.
Two chilly dog walks today. I spotted these new decorative hinges in a timber gate.
Pleasant evening everyone.
