Saltire Centre

Spent this morning at Glasgow Caledonian University at the Gathering the Voices event being held there. I was asked to be one of the speakers at the event along with the University Principal and the German Consul. It was held in the Saltire Centre building to coincide with the 48 hour Games Jam that was finishing today.

The Games Jam theme was to come up with games that would help illustrate or educate people about the stories of people who had fled the Nazis and come to Scotland to settle. The students had done a great job and come up with some really good ideas of games and apps that could be used to help people understand the journeys of those survivors who had escaped to Scotland.

Gathering the Voices is a project I have been involved in supporting for some time now and it was a great pleasure to see the success it has achieved thus far. The real privilege today however was meeting some of the survivors who had allowed their stories to be recorded for the project.
