Secret Staircase

Very close to where I blipped yesterday - just round the corner in fact - I decided to take a short cut down the "News Steps" - the first time I had ever passed this way. With the thick foliage surrounding it, the rot iron rails and the elegant stonework, it looked like this stairway could lead to somewhere quite magnificent rather than just the road below.

Nevertheless, it reminded me again that this is a city that is built on so many levels, all of which need their own connections.
