Blue door at St Magnus the Martyr

This vibrant blue door caught my eye when I was at the Monument yesterday. Small, at roughly half the height of a standard door, it’s in a part of St Magnus the Martyr Church in the City of London. This was one of the first buildings to be burnt in The Great Fire of London. Ironically, Thomas Farriner who owned the bakehouse where the fire began, had been a churchwarden here.

The church itself was closed but I shall return.
