Gifting

Today I finished reading this book. It has been on my bedside table since before Christmas, but it’s a book which deserves not to be rushed, so I have been limiting myself to one chapter a day. The last chapter was about gifting, and how we and the earth could benefit from a culture of gratitude and reciprocity. This book was a gift in more ways than one - the person who gave it to me gave something of herself, too :-) I shall come back to it again and again.

It has been a dull day today, with that cold easterly wind blowing again. I did a walk and some logs, but left the gardening for a softer day. Instead I wrote a letter and did some planning for the year ahead.
