Male chaffinch

Have you ever noticed this about chaffinches - they don't so much 'sit' on a branch as lie along it..  I found this one almost straight away on my very short walk this morning, enjoying the bright but rather cold sunshine and sprawled as though he was lounging on a lilo.  I thought the colours were wonderfully cheerful.

Am I making any progress?  Yes, I hope so but will know more tomorrow.  Hoping to have my comments on a little later this week.  Meanwhile, thank you as always for your many kindnesses and have a great start to Monday  xx
