Tookie sent me a book to comfort me re: Samuel. Dreaming and my neighbor gave me treats to comfort me re: the overlords and my job. Lisa gave me flowers to celebrate the show tomorrow.

I appreciate your care and concern regarding the US and regarding USAID. 

Also, if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have researched what is being said, including the claims of waste and fraud. So ridiculous! There is a video claiming USAID paid superstars millions of dollars to visit Ukraine. There are numerous news sites that call this out but if people don’t bother to look - and who does? - people might think that. No. Bribing Politico with millions of dollars? No. Thousands, not millions, were spent on subscriptions because it is nice to have data and news about places when you are planning projects. I did learn that apparently we have $500 million of food in ports about to spoil because there is no one there to distribute and safeguard it. And this sounds infuriating and wasteful. But it was lentils and vegetables. Unflavored lentils and vegetables. What does that even mean? And how could we be so cruel as to give that to people? If you are ever going to serve me lentils and vegetables I bet it will taste good because I bet you will flavor the heck out of it.
