Dolly's Day

WAITING

No need to get up early today - so I didn't.  Made a slow start and watched a bit of footie on TV .  Leyton Orient were playing Manchester City in the FA Cup.  I vaguely follow the fortunes of " The O's " as they were my late husbands boyhood team... he was born in Leyton.  Man City won the match as predicted but they didn't get things all their own way and  " The O's "  put up a bit of a fight.

After that match I set off to The Co-op.  I went out to catch the bus but missed it as I met my neigbour Keith in the street and we had a chat about Newcastle getting to Wembley in the Carabao Cup Final.  He works at St James Park so I assumed he would get a ticket to the final... but hes only counted as casual staff so he will have to enter the ballot like the rest of the fans. I don't think I will bother trying for a ticket as I doubt I will get one.  I will be way down the pecking order in the ballot.  Those fans who have been to a lot of away games and who have been to every Carabao Cup game will have a good chance. My plans at the moment are to go to Beckys house and watch it there.  It should be good as Becky and me will be supporting Newcastle and my son in law Mike will be cheering for Liverpool.

Chatting to Keith meant I missed the bus so I set off walking to the Co-op and I walked back home afterwards..  I didn't mind ... although the weather was drizzly and misty so it wasn't very pleasant.

When I got home and was unpacking the shopping I spotted these two wood pigeons on my fence.  I took pity on them and popped out with some bird seed.

Next on the agenda was another football match on TV.  Newcastle were playing away at Birmingham in the F A Cup. Kick off 5.45pm  Bit of a shocking start as Birmingham scored in the first minute.  But Newcastle kept their nerve and managed to win the game - final score Birmingham 2 Newcastle 3.
