Saturday's observations

Worm casts galore, badger & deer prints, vibrant jelly fungus & rusty bracken.

An early shop at Tesco's, Mum's & ours, tyre pressures checked, topped up with fuel. Arrived in CK 9am. Just in the nick of time. 3 place settings at the table, 2 milky coffees made, top off the tub of porridge oats, Mum in her jimjams. Sat Mum down with a coffee while I packed her shopping away, then decided it was shower morning. No complaints :-). Showered, dressed hair dried, breakfast. Laundry set going in the machine. Gave the birds their breakfast too. I left Mum enjoying her toast. It was bitterly cold, so well wrapped up, Indie & I set off for our lap of the heath. Did'nt see a soul, did'nt hear much birdsong either. 11.40 when we got back, time for a coffee, then got Mum's lunch going, beef casserole that I'd made previously & frozen, popped in the oven, roast potatoes, carrots, & Sweetheart cabbage. The cabbage looked so fresh & colourful as I prepared it, I felt compelled to snap it.
