Swan Downing
Depressingly dull and damp. I took Mish with me down to Fishers Green. As I started to walk over the wobbly bridge, only a short distance from where I'd parked the van, I heard great crested grebes calling in the flood relief channel below. They were nest building. I stood there for an hour watching them. After a while they stopped work and displayed, I thought they might dance. While they had eyes only for each other a coot approached their nest. When they spotted it they weren't happy. (Extras)
I was distracted by the sound of a swan's wings. I managed a shot as it came into land. It immediately started busking. Spring is definitely in the water.
