Chippings
There is still plenty of evidence of Storm Éowyn around Edinburgh. For example, here are the remains of a sad tree that met its end on 24th January 2025. We passed them on the cycle path this morning. We were on our way to Pitt Market, hoping to browse the stalls and perhaps pick up something tasty for lunch.
Unfortunately we were somewhat underwhelmed by the market's offerings. The only 'stall' was a massive clothing flea market for which an entry fee was charged, and none of the food offerings appealed to us. We felt that we would be better off at Leith market, so retraced our steps to the tram at Newhaven and caught the next service to Constitution Street.
At Leith market we saw some takeaway food that looked absolutely delicious and were on the point of buying it when we discovered that one of the main ingredients was chickpeas. This was bad news for Mr hazelh due to his allergy to certain pulses. In the end we decided to walk home and have scrambled eggs for lunch.
This afternoon our University friend Graham made his annual phone call to us. We think/hope that we have persuaded him and his wife to come and visit us in September. I also wrote five letters: two to my own friends, three to friends of Mummy hazelh.
We missed the latest episode of Traitors US last night when we were out, so are looking forward to catching up with this this evening.
Exercise today: walking (18,561 steps).
