Goodbye Colombia

Last day. Walked through old town to go to Naval museum but it was so hot we couldn’t face it and came back. Luckily we still had our room till 12 as I needed another shower. Various people left during the day. Some are staying a couple of days extra and one couple are going to Curaçao for a week.

We read in the sitting area with a fan overhead till the taxi came for us and Sasha at 3.30. She was going directly to Amsterdam then on to Manchester. Our flight to Bogotá was delayed by an hour. Iain was called to the desk and had to go off with security people as they thought he had a lighter in his bag. It was his camera which for some reason was in checked bag and not carry on. Once in Bogotá we bought some water and a snack as the flight didn’t leave till 11.30 pm.

It’s been a great trip but I’m looking forward to getting back to see the family. #3 daughter was supposed to be having a weekend away with a group of friends celebrating Rachel’s 50th but she was full of cold yesterday and now thinks it might be flu so won’t go. At least Ella and Nathaniel are having a sleepover with friends so she’ll can rest. #2 did her annual birthday 26 mile champagne walk to South Shields and back with a friend. They had Thomas’s parents’ evening and he’s doing very well and is a happy boy at school so no worries there.
