Michael Foley's funeral

An elderly traveller, a patriarch of one of the local traveller families was being buried in Clon today. The hearse was drawn by four horses , with two other outriders. The cortege proceeded from the church around to the other end of the town and paused at his house, before coming back through the town centre. The police had stopped traffic at strategic points to allow it free passage and many shops closed their doors when the funeral was passing, with staff standing outside as a mark of respect.
