Keeping on

I went with friends to a tiny exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum of six kabuki kimonos: elaborately woven base silk, with intricate painting or embroidery, or both, on top. Astounding.

Coffee, lunch, catch-up chat, more coffee, then the others went off to the station while I went to visit the care-home uncle on his 91st birthday. There were four of us there, one of whom took a replica of the the photo she took at his 90th birthday. She then showed me last year's, about which I commented, 'I almost put that top on again this morning; glad I didn't.' The next picture she showed us from last year included her too - and we all collapsed laughing. She was wearing not only the same jumper as this year, but also the same blouse underneath.
