Nuthatch
We got to see some bright sunshine today. The birds seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. This nuthatch was particularly happy to snatch peanuts from the feeder. It wasn’t enough sun to cut the chill from the wind when we were riding in the open side by side though. We visited the neighbor, taking her some homemade soup and almond pound cake. She fell a few times lately; a scary situation for a 90 year old living alone. My sister gave her some socks with non slip material. Hopefully, she will use them. We stayed until time for our lunch. Everyone enjoyed my homemade vegetable beef soup. It removed our chill. Sugar and I stayed behind while the others took a walk. My knees are not being cooperative for long walks. Sugar and I enjoyed some quiet time and were content with short walks when she needed to go out. We found some interesting marks on the front lawn. There are grooves of different lengths that look like something narrow was dragged several feet but not continuously. It’s weird. We plan another quiet evening after dinner. Wishing the same for you. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “Black and white winter, are you both flowerless and songless? It may seem so, but there is both music and colour; for the tones of winter are as really distinctive as those of all other seasons. If you search, as you have done each day, in the spring, summer, or autumn, you will find constantly a new beauty, a fresh surprise.” - MABEL OSGOOD WRIGHT
