Kurwa Zimno
This is the one of the few Polish phrases I know. I apologise to anyone who knows what it means, but it is the only apt phrase!
Victoria and I walked down to the sea front this morning. When I’ve said the wind has been brutal up at Redbrook I didn’t know what real brutality was until I felt the icy wind slap me today. It was Cold. We met up with Julie and Val who arrived late last night. We had a wander and then a drink and a waffle in a cafe along the dock. There are some tall ships and all sorts of interesting naval stuff.
We did have a look at the swim site where the final bits are being put in place. Then we collected our swim things and joined Karen and Dave at the beach. There were some choppy waves and the sea was icy. Dave, Val, Julie and I went in and then Karen and Victoria helped us get dressed. We weren’t in for long and it was too rough to swim, we froze but I can now say…’I was Baltic in the Baltic’.
After a hot shower we met up at the Museum cafe for a lovely meal this evening. Nice food, lovely company.
Now to prepare for the -9 temp tomorrow…..who needs toes anyway!
