Spitzkoppe
I was able to stand on my decking and look at this mountain.
Yesterday was very hot but a few drops of rain lowered the temperature and I slept fairly well.
We had a morning shoot, enjoying the rising sun as it illuminated the mountain.
My first extra is taken at the other end of the day. I want to try to convery the vastness of the landscape. If you look to the left of the image, you will see a clump of trees in the distance. This gives some impression of scale. Yes, the sand is that colour!
My second extra shows the viscous thorns of the acacia tree. When I was in Botswana in 1973, we had a theatre pack called the "Thorn Removal Pack" to deal with the people who fell into the thorns. Giraffes can take the leaves and avoid being damaged by the thorns.
