*The BX Stage Company served from 1863 to 1913 along the original Cariboo Wagon Road. Hat Creek Ranch became a roadhouse to support the express service during that time. A portion of old road remains within the boundaries of the Hat Creek Ranch today. The ranch itself is a significant historic location within the province of British Columbia.
