5 quid vase
I couldn’t resist this jug for £5 in a local charity shop, marked down as there is an obvious repair in the rim. I have a sentimental fondness for Mason Ironstone and I particularly like this design in Chartreuse. There’s loads of it about and I don’t need much so I’m not a collector but I love this one with some emerging daffs in it. I should have fluffed open their petals a bit more for the blip, I find that not all of those green pencils open fully, particularly as the season goes on.
Chris continues to paint. It was a gorgeous sunny day after a frosty start. Dog and I walked and I moved a few things forward for work.
Watched The Apprentice, another Bafta film which is, if you can stomach a film about Trump, Vikram couldn’t, very good but also very revealing. He learned corruption from a master, Roy Cohen and applied it gleefully. The performance shows he had charm when he started that curdles gradually into a demanding, entitled, avariciousness. Also good to get a glimpse of New York and to realise what it was in the ‘80s when I first went there. How it’s changed. We’re going again next week, first time in about 6 years for me.
Cooked a Nigel Slater chicken in cider for dinner - it was a bit grey looking, a lot of mushrooms, but very delicious and tasty.
