W-I-D-E on Wednesday: "Round or Curvy"

This little carpet roll (about a metre square) has a slightly interesting history. Over 20 years ago we were in our local carpet shop choosing a new carpet and this was one of our options. They allow you to bring home specimens to check out in your room and so we brought this one to try. We didn't actually go for this one in the end but Son#3 (who was quite young then) was with us when we took it back and he took a liking to it. He gave such a pleading look at the manager (he used this look to good effect more than once, on one occasion winning a soft toy beluga whale after a whale-watching trip) that he was allowed to keep it.

It proved to be an ideal size to put down on the main carpet to protect it whenever we put up our Christmas tree, so we still use it every year.

So it seemed suitabe for Bobsblips's Widwed challenge this week.
