Water of Leith
Went up to Coalie Park to participate in the monthly clean and tidy-up - unfortunately the flat-bottomed boat was needed elsewhere (!) so we couldn't pick stuff out of the river. There was a big turn-out, so lots of litter-picking done, plus painting the railings up the steps to Keddie Park (wire-brushed last month) and I did sweeping/raking/shovelling of leaves and mud off the walkway. There was lots of bird activity - apart from this handsome cormorant preening himself, I saw tufted ducks, moorhens (v noisy today!), swans, and lots of goosanders rushing about. I think they regard the spring season as having started already. See extra for a nice swathe of aconites.
