The old harbour

We had a trip to Whitehaven - I am not sure I have ever been before, despite spending quite a bit of time on the West Coast over the years. A lovely day and the harbour was looking good. Nice to see so many people wandering about enjoying the sunshine. Great coffee and lunch at the Beacon cafe. 

This is the historic 17th century harbour, now a marina. Difficult to imagine that it was once the third largest port in the UK with trade links all over the world.
