Sue’s Tulips
When you get a message from the library saying that the book you borrowed 3 weeks ago is due back tomorrow when 3 weeks at the time seemed like a lifetime but is in fact a blink of the eye and you haven’t started it and can’t extend the loan because someone else wants it, then you just have to sit and read and more read. I did and enjoyed it so much - Trumpet by Jackie Kay who was the Makar of Scotland a few years ago.
I finished it in time to return it after lunch when I was on my way to the charity shop with 2 bags of tops sizes 8 and 10 having come to the conclusion that the woman who wore them has left the room and in all honesty is never going to return. I blame Covid!
Earlier though, I interrupted my reading to meet a friend and former neighbour for a long overdue catch up. She had become a new grandmother to 2 granddaughters since I saw her last and photos were displayed and beautiful tulips received.
The balconists did not appear today so the bucket catching the leak in the down pipe is till in place but since it hasn’t rained since yesterday it has had no work to do today. Perhaps the men will come tomorrow, we poor customers can only wait and see. In a fortnight It will be 4 months since the scaffolding went up.
