Saturday: Zagreb - Krk

We set off this morning for a four day weekend in/on Krk - Zagreb's closest island.  We drove virtually the whole way off motorway, as the traffic at this time of year is just ridiculous.  It was a beautiful route, absolutely stunning and, as K. said, it is great when the journey is part of the getting there, rather than just a means of getting there.

Krk itself is lovely, as is our little apartment.  We headed straight for the beach to get in the water - we did comment on the liberal dog policy here, only to discover that we were actually swimming in the dog pool.......they were lovely dogs though!

We had a distinctly average meal this evening.  Krk has more tourists than it can cope with so it is a case of eat where you can.  I did type up a whole diatribe about Croatian food but I might just let it go.  Suffice to say, that we have come to the conclusion that we have never seen such a lack of imagination.........
