Sea effect snow

Today I am grateful that we are retired with no obligations to take us out doors.  Today is a learning day:  That men can't wait to get outdoors in the snow with their snow removal equipment.  I wouldn't be surprised if hubby ordered a snow blower so he could be out playing with the (at last count) three other men who are making passes through our cul-de-sac with their snow blowers, having discussions when they pass, no doubt about the plusses and minuses of their respective models.  I also suspect that B would be ordering the next model up.   While making light of their passions, I am eternally grateful for the kindness of our neighbourhood to clear our sidewalks for us all.
But an explanation for the title of todays blip.
"The key is having an airmass that’s much colder than the water. As winds blow colder air over the ocean, heat and moisture rise and condense to form clouds. The clouds continue to develop and downwind can produce flurries or intense snow squalls over land. These bands can sometimes persist for hours or days, which is why it's not uncommon for these events to dump large amounts of snow."
