Our Boy River
All morning, I felt like there was something I should be doing. When we have parties, everyone pitches in with the food. This time, Lauren said she and her Mom were taking care of everything. It just felt odd. We took care of one load of laundry before we left. Half of our family have been stricken with the virus going around. Parker, most of Kim and Kristen’s family are still in some stage of recovery but not 100%. So the crowd was smaller than originally planned. There were still folks spread out in four rooms. Thankfully, the little munchkins had their own area at the other end of the building. We could chat at a normal voice level. I distributed my Valentines without having to go to individual homes. Want to stay away from all those germs. Lauren served a nice luncheon and desserts. The theme was ‘space’ and her decorations were cute. The kids loved the spaceman piñata. Lauren’s children really don’t eat candy. Neither of them were interested in the goodies that fell when the piñata broke apart. Hope that is always the case. Isla just wanted to put the poor thing back together. River hasn’t mastered blowing out his candles. He was super excited when they were all finally out. We took turns being in or taking the obligatory family photos before everyone headed home. My sister and BIL followed us home to pick up their smoker and lawn rockers. I made chicken salad and a chicken pot pie; we have enough meals prepared until we leave. Hubby took a nap and my turn may come soon. Wishing you a fine week ahead. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting.
