Snowdrop

There is a pub in Lewes called The Snowdrop Inn. It's not named after the flower but commemorates an avalanche in 1836 in which eight people died. 

Isn't it strange, the things that one remembers at random. This factoid arrived when I typed the title in this blip. I used to live near Lewes, that's why I know about this boozer. The snowdrop in the blip is in my garden
