Magnolia soulangeana

Every year I start off trying to document the stages in the Magnolias bud development.  Every year it goes astray I either don't start soon enough or don't follow through.  So as soon as I noticed a slight fattening  I decided to start again.

We nipped out to the Lodge because we had the ceiling painted yesterday and wanted to admire it  It seemed sensible to have it done while the room was as empty as it was ever going to be.  A lovely job.
