Edinburgh Castle

A sunny and frosty start to the day, which came as surprise to many motorists. A lot of scraping of windscreens required before they could set off. The Met Office forecast had been fore relatively mild conditions.

On the morning walk, the sun had melted some of the frost. There was also some icy puddles and solid mud. While most of the snow has now melted on the Ochil hills, the munros further north are quite white.

After work a walk up a nearby hill. On the sheltered path, there were large patches of frost. At the top of the hill, even areas that had been in the sun were frosty. A surprise considering the hill is only 50m higher above sea level than my house. The best view was this one of Edinburgh Castle.
