Grasmere Mist and Rise
Our final morning in the Lakes and I woke to persistent drizzle. I was sitting in the hotel lounge when I noticed some colouring up of some clouds to the east. I grabbed the camera and headed up to Allan Bank for an elevated view of the village.
The main image is from the bank in front of the house, but I was also able to capture a few other images (some in extras) over the next 40 minutes or so before breakfast.
The return home was uneventful. We made a slight detour to the Rab factory shop that has opened in Northwich.
I've managed to add another 6 Wainwrights to my tally, now over 30% complete. It was one of the hardest walks I can remember, rivalling a walk on the Glyders many years ago coming down via Hell's Kitchen where my quads were equally fatigued by the end. Still, It's worth it when you get spectacular views from the fells.
Hope to be back up there soon.
