Costa del Sol

I don’t suppose there’s much call for these right now. Although when I arrived at the hotel there were quite a number of scantily clad folk reading around the pool. The pool attendant was wearing gloves and a woolly hat. This evening it’s just about warm enough to sit on the balcony with a couple of layers.
When Virginia suggested I stay in Torremolinos I don’t think she had this Sol Torremolinos resort in mind. I’m delighted with it, notwithstanding that its 8 pools will almost certainly not be used. It’s astonishingly good value and if I want I can eat as early as 6pm. There’s even scope for some Spanish conversations with the staff who have little to do at this time of year and are very obliging.
The train from Madrid, while efficient and on time was a little disappointing. The seats were very low and if you wanted to look out of the window you practically had to stand up. I shall avoid AVLO trains in future. The Wi-Fi was excellent so I did do some Spanish homework.
