Chimneys
I finally made it to Hampton Court Palace.
After one abortive attempt, I intended to go last week but on checking the ticket found I had booked the wrong day! It actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the weather last week was atrocious but today was wall to wall blue skies and warm enough to only need a fleece while walking round.
I had a wonderful day wandering around the palace and gardens viewing the various historical influences over the years (some in extras), but was drawn to these wonderfully ornate Tudor brick chimneys over some of the oldest parts, began in 1514 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, the chief minister of Henry VIII.
