The Early Bird and Me

Oh it felt very cold and draughty walking to the bus stop this morning as the wind whistled round my bare legs. There was a beautiful rose tinted frosty dawn but you are spared yet another sunrise as it had gone by the time the bus got me to the seaside. It was an equally cold and draughty walk to find the sea at low tide far past the groyne sign and the sea felt colder than it has done  recently. There must have been about 15 ladies in the water but not for more than about 8minutes - it was that cold. Strangely though, the shivering was under control by the time I got back on the bus. My heated waistcoat/gilet is worth its weight in gold.

The sun has shone all day but the wind is icy. My duster has been busy, although as I type, the sun has moved its spotlight away from the window so that the dust is no longer highlighted.

I spent some of the morning writing to the person in the Factor’s office overseeing the balcony work telling him that as far as I was concerned it had become a shambles as we have hardly seen any workmen this year so far. He wrote back saying he agreed and was going to contact the surveyor and the firm involved. So many trite words but so little action. I should place a bet that the work will not be completed or the scaffolding down until Easter at the earliest……which is late this year.
