Everest

We went to Rheged today to visit the Everest exhibition - strongly recommend it if you are in the area. It had details of all the early attempts on Everest, particularly the Mallory / Irvine expeditions. Even had Irvinge's Ice Axe from the 1924 expedition where he went missing on - discovered in 1933 and Mallory's Boot (he went missing the same year) which was discovered in 1999

Fabulous to see the clothing they used to climb in - so far removed from the technical clothing available today.
