Waiting Patiently

We had another stay at home day. Ah, January, why must you hurry away? After cleaning the kitchen, I made appointments for upcoming medical procedures - ugh. It’s time for my LAST colonoscopy, biennial endoscopy, annual blood work and mammogram. Add to those, already made appointments for my annual physical and getting my permanent crown and you can imagine I will be tired of seeing doctors by March. Tomorrow, I go to the cardiologist and Friday to the gastroenterologist. Golden years, they say. Yep, we hand our gold to doctors…. But in truth, I am blessed to have great medical specialists in our area and sufficient insurance to cover all my bills. The birds use this dogwood tree as their waiting area for access to the bird feeder. I noticed the plentiful buds are growing nicely. I also worked on my charitable giving data for our taxes. I always dread pulling out all the paperwork and recording my contributions. Hubby uses “Quicken” and “It’s Deductible” all year so his info is ready as soon as the updated TurboTax is available. I probably drive him nuts with my record keeping (or lack of same). The job is done for another year. My sister and BIL stopped by to get a paper copy of our menu and shopping list for our Feb trip to WV. Glad they did. We found a few omissions on groceries plus she already has a few things on my list. We don’t need duplicates. The group we saw in December is doing a Valentine concert the evening before we leave to come home. That will be a nice send off. We already planned to be in town for Mass/dinner. The timing works perfectly. Jamie sent us an impressive variety of food from their football playoff party yesterday. There is no need to cook for the next few days here or at his house. Each of their guests brought way too much and left it for us to share. More blessings. Wishing you the blessing of others’ generosity. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “A bud is a flower-to-be. A flower in waiting. Waiting for just the right warmth and care to open up. It's a little fist of love waiting to unfold and be seen by the world.” - Christopher Paul Curtis
