Caerketton Craigs and the T-Wood
A cold and bright start to the day. Still quite a bit of snow on the Pentland Hills. Went out for a wee walk in the sunshine. However it was incredibly icy in places. I had to retrace my steps and take a different route. In the park, there snow on the grass was set hard. Route was diverted on the way home too, so ended up walking a bit further than than I normally would do on a Sunday morning.
After lunch, the clouds have moved in. The temperature has risen a bit. The ice that was there in the morning has now melted, so the afternoon walk should be fine. No sledging this time. The snow is even melting on the Hills, but there is enough to create a wintry scene. The Highland Coos are enjoying an afternoon snack. On the return leg, we even get to see 3 of the Swanston sika deer. The clouds are getting quite dark now, but we make it home before the rain arrives, just. A few minutes after we get home, big spots of rain are falling from the sky.
