I dropped in to say
hello to the quilters who
do much for others

I had an invitation to come to the quilting group for coffee time this morning. I haven't seen these wonderful ladies for almost 5 years. I went running home in March 2020 and didn't return to this group.

I was happy to see some familiar faces and meet some new people, too.  This group has produced more than 700 lap quilts in the past year so they are going strong.

I took a quick look around and appreciated what 24 ladies can accomplish each Monday morning. Fabric is cut into squares, laid out on a table to form patterns, blocks are sewn into rows and columns and the top, batting and backing get sandwiched and tied with yarn. Quilts are donated to Christmas hampers, seniors' residences, group homes.....anywhere a fabric hug would be handy.
