Toight Nuts
There are worse ways to start your birthday than with the smell of bacon and eggs wafting into your room in the knowledge that it is being cooked for you.
I had some time before descending though, so came-to with a brew in bed and a bit of read before devouring Andrea’s offering and chatting with her as she pottered around tidying up.
Post breakfast, I took a stroll back into Balloch and tried to walk through the park, but shocked to find a number of fallen trees blocking the path. Clearly the local council are going to have a busy few days tidying up!
Eventually though, it was time to set off home and after a bit of a false start with Big Blue (he too needed some time to come-to apparently), we were on the road. There was a bit of a racket emanating from the rear on the motorway, so I pulled in a way down the road and realised that some of the wheel nuts needed tightening after yesterday’s pitstop. With the job done, I was back on the road with Big Blue sounding much happier, so I caught up on a few podcasts for the reminder of the uneventful drive, which was a lot less thrilling than Friday’s drive up!
Landing home, I had a walk into town for some supplies and a birthday hot chocolate in advance of a little chill-out in front of the football prior to collecting the wee ones.
They got me a cracking cookbook and a spider plant before we caught up over a birthday tea of pizza (thanks mum) and watched West Ham earn a hard fought draw at Villa. We closed out with an overdue viewing of Liar Liar. I’m delighted to find that they love Jim Carrey as much as I do!
It’s been a cracking birthday weekend.
